{ It’s about time I write about the elusive Main Character, MC for short. }

The MC is actually quite solidified in my brain as far as personality. I mentioned before that they’d be a black, feminine genderqueer, opposite Haruka’s masculine genderqueer, but outside of that, they actually have quite a little gender journey, like most people on the trans* spectrum have in real life. I use “they” in reference to them here, but I feel as if the MC would answer to any pronouns, she, he, or they. It fits their personality.

They start out as a regal deity, born into the royal family, living a life that most people would love to have. Everything they’ve ever wanted, servants upon servants and attendants upon attendants. THE life.

The MC’s looks…I’m still debating these, but there are definitely some things that I have in mind for sure. Long, tight coiled, slightly frizzy hair, warm brown skin, big hazel eyes. I love the freckle route, but we’ll see on that.

School isn’t really their thing; they like to go out and be social and do active things, sports, etc. It isn’t that they aren’t smart, but school settings don’t suit them at all, save one class, Third Level Studies. They adore learning about Third Level creatures, and the dynamics of Third Level worlds. Perhaps it’s a residual connection to their mother, who was the equivalent of a doctorate in Third Level Studies and has been missing for quite a number of years, now. Of the MC and their brother, only the MC remembers their mother well.

Personality-wise, the MC grows as they get older. They start out as a rather happy-go-lucky, rowdy teen, the kind that is quick to wrestle outside, but loves loves loves to dress up and look fancy when it’s time for royal balls and parties. They’re also very generous; any toys they’ve been given usually end up given away, half because the MC doesn’t particularly enjoy playing with crafted toys (and especially not the little porcelain, delicate dolls their father buys for them) and half just out of a desire to give to others.

Meeting Haruka turns out to be a bit of a culture shock for the MC, who doesn’t know Haruka’s language or anything about where they are from. The MC takes a lot of pains to learn from Haruka, sometimes to the point of cutting class here and there…though Haruka always urges them to go so the both of them aren’t in trouble over it.

Once on the journey into the story, the MC ends up going from the hyper, happy person to someone who is lonely, hurt, and bitter at the world. Their original love of pranks and nonsense is cut down to a completely no-nonsense attitude. Days are no longer filled with playtime, but desperate searching. They begin to dwell on the happy times in the past, sometimes while losing sight of the future. At this time, their gender presentation changes with their mood, which will become somewhat clear in the game.

Fighting-wise, the MC is a mix of their parents; proficient enough to use magic, and strong enough to use several different kinds of weapons, from swords, to projectiles. Swords are by far the MC’s best, as they began to learn sword-fighting from Haruka before embarking on their journey. Still, repeated usage of either spears, axes, or projectiles will lift the MC’s skill in them.

Where will the MC’s growth end up by the last fight in the game? I’m not sure yet, but we’ll see.
