She was just hit with some unexpected medical and therapy bills, which completely wiped out her savings. She’s short on rent for this month and has pretty much nothing for food at all. My GI has now convinced my PCP to stop giving me all pain meds. He says it will cause problems in my intestines. Narcotic bowel syndrome. My PCP is switching me from Savella to Cymbalta and adding Tramadol, which I’ve already been on and didn’t work.
My question is:
FOR ANYONE OUT THERE WITH CROHN’S OR ULCERATIVE COLITIS HAS YOUR GI EVER REFUSED TO GIVE YOU PAIN MEDS OR TOLD YOUR PCP TO REFUSE TO GIVE YOU PAIN MEDS, KNOWING YOU WERE IN PAIN? THE REASON BEING THIS “NARCOTIC BOWEL SYNDROME” WHICH FROM WHAT I UNDERSTAND YOU HAVE YOU BE A HEAVY DRUG USER TO CAUSE ANY PROBLEMS.
