{ This is an “About Me” I found today (trigger warning): }
“If you like stripping, porn, burlesque, femininity, supporting delusional men who impersonate females (TRANNIES,) self-loathing women who impersonate male supremacy (TRANNIES,) BDSM and/or support them DO NOT ADD ME. When I discover this, I will block you. Thanks. I’m not too interested in perpetuating white-male-heterosupremacy and if you actually gave a shit about womyn, neither would you.
I AM A RADICAL FEMINIST - NOT THE FUN KIND”
This is why we can’t have nice things.
“I AM A RADICAL FEMINIST - NOT THE FUN KIND” Trans-exclusionary radical feminists, aka TERFs (or radscum as an ex of mine labelled them), want to perpetuate cissexist biological essentialist bullshit notions of cis white female heterosupremacy (No, they’re not into lesbianism; just look at how they always think of sex in hetero terms). They are the funhouse mirror version of the white-male-heterosupremacy patriarchy. Meet the new boss, same as the old boss. They’re not fun all right, because they want to control women just as much as misogynistic men. It’s no more attractive coming from women than it is from men. If you believe in this kind of bullshit agenda, I have to wonder just why the hell you are following my tumblr.
Oh is that the shitstack BB told me about?
Yeah radscums ought to be killed by hornets that are on fire.
No argument here.

killyourenemies [is a tremendous fuckwad]:
fuck off trannies. you’re not women, and i’m not obligated to recognise you as one. which for the record, is not as bad as men raping, torturing, murdering and burning womyn and girls alive for like say, oh, the past 1000 years at least?
You are a ridiculous taint-hair of a person. Go back through whatever hellmouth you slimed out of.

Frances Fox Piven is a distinguished professor of political science and sociology at the Graduate Center of the City University of New York.
At 78, she has taught several generations of students about how and why poor people don’t get a fair shake in the United States and how to increase their organizational power and encourage voter registration.
…
[Beck] accused her of being “an enemy of the Constitution” and an advocate of “violent revolution” and has listed her as one of the nine most dangerous people in the world.
Since he started to air these attacks, Piven has begun receiving death threats.
I consider Glenn Beck to be one of the most dangerous people in the world.
I have no idea how he continues to be able to spew his hate.
This does not, however, mean I condone violence against him. I have more personal ethics and morals then that man ever will.
He just loves the attention and the power he’s got. What absolute scum.

is this supposed to be funny? I’m seeing all these notes about “japan lol” and isolationism. just because it’s not western doesn’t mean that it’s less important or less impressive than a David or a Hogarth. I assume this is intended to be insulting and belittling because the Japanese painting isn’t in a the ‘western tradition’ and because it looks different from something people in the west are used to looking at. if you’re able to, please make use of your public library at once and save yourselves some embarrassment in the future. also, whoever created this is probably an asshole.
How dare the Japanese artist not draww like the Europeans? Doesn’t he know white is right?
I guess he will when Commodore Perry kicks down his door and eats his knees.
Oh, why, would you look at that - some perfect art history fail for you!
If you are able to source and date a series of paintings by dead white European men, can you also not do some basic research about Japanese painting and prints? I am sure it makes you feel ever so fancy to be able to chat shit about ~*~*art*~*~ (as long as it is the art by the dead white European men of course!) but, you know, some of the effort and time expended doing that could also be dedicated to learning about something called “Eurocentrism”.
The idea that White European Art flourishes and is ~great~ simply buys into a prescriptive and teleological narrative of art. White European Art progresses. It goes forwards — up, even! Ah, single-point perspective, modelling, naturalism, light, colour, history painting, the Lives of the Artists…
Now, in terms of the rest of the world of art out there (once we begrudgingly acknowledge it):
- The story of Indian art is written in decline. It goes backwards. Needs civilising imperial influence.
- The art of China is static and doesn’t go anywhere. It is an example of sino-stagnance.
- The art of Africa? What is that? Egypt isn’t a part of Africa, don’t be silly!
- Not quite yet sure about the rest of the continents so let’s just erase them.
If you actually believed any of that, you’re a victim of Eurocentric historiography. Unlearn it, please. De-colonise your mind.
Now, how can I put this in a way so as to not offend or un-nerve…?I am not going to deny the historical fact of strict foreign policy. However, I do think much of the LOLJAPANESE coming from this is just whitey being miffed that someone doesn’t want whitey to come in and ransack their place willy-nilly. They’re just not used to this level of resistance to imperialism! Anyway, it wasn’t as if Japan was completely isolated or that contact with only whitey was restricted.
Now, in terms of the art: it is not due to some especial Oriental perversity/stagnance/decline that the Japanese people produced art using different artistic technique, different artistic aims, different relationship between artist and audience, different ways of consuming art.
I don’t want to frighten you with the idea that, um, Japan is kind of far away from Europe. Would they obliged produce art like the Europeans even if they were next-door neighbours? Perhaps.
The reason 18th century Europe had this sense of That Which is Art is because, well… European countries are relatively near each other. They had established centres of production such as London, Venice, Florence. Also it is relatively easier to travel, say, between England and Italy. Artists came and went from workshop to workshop, court to court. Artistic treatises were published and circulated, translated into different languages. The rich began to collect art in the early 17th century, creating a way of controlling and exhibiting taste and power. Also, the Royal Academy in London opened a few decades earlier than the paintings shown here, a place where artists studied and held exhibitions. There was a concern with a particular standard of excellence and a consciousness of creating oneself as an enlightened and much-patronised artist. So you see, there’s a particular world of art in Europe, mediated by the production and display of artwork.
Now, what countries are near Japan? China and Korea. Would it therefore be more reasonable to also look at them when evaluating how and why Japanese art came to look that way? Well, it would certainly be more rational than comparing it to European art just by some colonised aesthetic.
It shows huge history and geography fail to not take the above vague but basic background into account. If the person who made the graphic took a class in art history then I should like to box the tutor’s ears, that’ll learn them.
Shit, even I could be a better teacher!
Awesome haterina is awesome. You’re a fair sight better than most teachers out there, I’ll bet, as well as better than the History Channel.

{ “Ive seen so many beautiful curvy women gain success in hollywood and then wither into bobble headed stick figures in some grotesque attempt to fit a revolting hollywood trend. I like real women, not the broomsticks that Hollywood has been selling lately.” }

Can I just marry him

Oh boy.
I just keep telling myself, “He is talking about me. He is in love with me. He is talking about me.”

No.
Matthew Gray Gubler, you seem fabulous, but two things you are not:
- Remus Lupin
- Being a decent person with this quote.
All women are real women. And “Hollywood” isn’t the only cause of this problem where women feel that their bodies aren’t good enough, and go to great and harmful lengths to change them, and hate themselves for no good reason: it’s also because of bullshit quotes like this. This pseudo-acceptance thing, this “curvier women are sexier and skinny women are grotesque!” thing. You actually used the word “grotesque!” What the fuck is WRONG with you? Who the FUCK are you to tell ANY woman her body is “grotesque?” The pressure to conform, the pressure to look a certain way, that is grotesque — and all you are doing here is contributing to that trend.
Fuck off.
^^^
CAN WE LIKE MAYBE STOP FALLING OVER OURSELVES ABOUT ANOTHER DUDE WHO THINKS HE IS ENTITLED TO COMMENT ON WOMEN’S BODIES
Holy Jesus, there are so fucking many things wrong with that quote. Grotesque? Revolting? “Real” women? Are you fucking kidding me? BODY POLICING IS NOT OKAY, NO MATTER WHO IS DOING THE POLICING OR WHOSE BODY IS BEING POLICED.
wow. what an arsebutt.
This “I like real women” bullshit is something that skanky people (mostly skanky men) love to parrot when they want to seem “progressive”.

Since he started to air these attacks, Piven has begun receiving death threats.
Just to share a few of the threats (**TRIGGER WARNING**):
“I got e-mails that said, ‘Die You Cunt,’ and ‘May cancer find you soon,’ ” she tells The Progressive. “And people are posting my address on the Internet with their messages that are really crude and ugly and violent.”
According to the Center for Constitutional Rights, several death threats against her have been posted on Beck’s website.
Here are a few:
“Be very careful what you ask for honey…A few well placed marksmen with high powered rifles…”
“Maybe they should burst through the front door of the arrogant elitist and slit the cow’s throat.”
“Somebody tell Frances I have 5,000 rounds ready.”
“We should blow up Piven’s office and home.”
“Let’s go string her up.”
“Snap her little chicken neck. This pinko filth needs a long dirt nap.”
Anyone remember Byron Williams? I’m loathe to believe that all of these are idle threats.
I’d forgotten, so thanks for the reminder — we damn well better remember Williams.
Also I bet a lot of the people who get in on this death threat shitstorm also think that hip-hop and violent video games are “ruining the country”.
