Wow, how… thoughtful… O.o

The author then goes on to state how he’s “become completely obsessed with gypsies” and all things “traveler”. He makes a point of stating how “most 21st century tinkers aren’t exactly driving pollution-spewing RVs all over kingdom come”. 

First off, does he not realize that “tinker” is an offensive term used against Pavee and other Irish travelers? Does he not understand that “gypsy” is an offensive term?

Oh wait, HOW COULD HE? Since both Channel 4 and TLC are spewing negative stereotypes and racist terms ALL OVER THE PLACE~!!!

The designer of the furniture says that he “called it Gypsy, because that’s kind of how I felt every time I moved.” Oh REALLY? So, he knows what it’s like to be a gypsy? He knows the oppression, racial hatred, and misrepresentation does he? Obviously, since he packed some stuff in a car a couple times a year and moved to college…. *facepalm*

The last line of the main article says it all:

These shows are SO incredibly damaging. I posted a comment on the site. Waiting for the slew of nasty racist emails I will receive. Whatever, that’s what the trash is for. Besides, it’ll be interesting to see if the author actually gives a shit how people react to his blog.

Petition Support the UN call to delay the evictions at Dale Farm

The Gypsy Council ask the world to help Dale Farm.

In 11 Languages - A plea for help and support for the residents of Dale Farm.

With the date for eviction set as the 19^th September 2011 the count down has begun for the most expensive eviction in UK history.

The bailiffs are waiting for their financial windfall of millions, which they will earn by evicting homeless people from their own land.

The police have also ear marked £10 million much of which will be used for over time payments for their officers.

Construction companies and engineers are also licking their lips at the thought of the massive bonuses about to come their way as the demolition and reinstatement of the land takes place.

With so much money about to flow into the pockets of the local government contractors and police, is there any chance of Basildon Council making a balanced decision and looking again at what the World is telling them is blatantly wrong? 

The International Alliance of Inhabitants, colleagues from the World Social Forum and Amnesty International are helping together with many other groups.

Support the United Nations call to delay UK evictions.

We have about 5 days from today Sunday 4 September 2011.

We need at least 5,000 signatures quickly, to get a debate on important issues.

Looking for a supportive name… can’t think of one…. at least one that includes everyone (IDEAS? Please??) 

Ideas are going to be here for now which is my old website… I can have much more control over editing the design etc here. I’m going to purchase a new domain name and hosting once I (we?!) figure out a suitable name…
