{ Mohammed Sooknanan: Detained 1 year despite granted I-130!! }
On Dec 6, Mohammed was driving his wife, who was having a panic attack, to the hospital when he was stopped by the police. They arrested him after finding out his undocumented status and transferred him to Broward Transitional Center, where he has been ever since.
Mohammed is a low priority deportation. He has a U.S. citizen wife and son who need him by their side. Tell ICE to let him go by signing the petition and making a phone call.
For each day Mohammed is detained tax-payers are spending $166 for his detention. Mohammed’s expired tag was no more than a few hundred dollars and now tax-payers have spent over $50,000 keeping Mohammed in detention.
TAKE ACTION - MAKE A CALL:
Call ICE – John Morton @ 202.732.3000
Sample Script: “I am calling to ask that you release Mohammed Sooknanan (A#876-090-171) from Broward Transitional Center. Mohammed was arrested for having an expired license while driving his U.S. citizen wife, who was having a panic attack, to the hospital. He has a U.S. citizen son and is a low-priority deportation. Mohammed should be released from detention immediately.”
