Senator Nelson is the ONLY person who can help Julio and yet, despite being a democrat, he is refusing to help my friend. I need your help, will you make a phone call to Senator Nelson an demand that he take action to stop Julio’s deportation? Call Senator Nelson: “Why won’t you support Julio?”

“Hi, I was calling regarding the case of Julio Blanco (A#205-344-735). He is a low-priority case and the Senator is the only one who can stop his deportation. Why is the Senator not taking any action? Has the Senator called John Morton directly? Deporting Julio is in violation of the low-priority memo issued by ICE. Why is the Senator allowing for this to happen?”

If the office tells you they are working with the family let them know they aren’t doing enough. Tell them just forwarding a message to ICE is not enough. Ask them: “Has the Senator called John Morton directly himself?”

Do not let them off the hook.

On April 25th, 2012, Julio was driving to work when he was racially profiled and pulled over by a police offer who demanded to see his driver’s license. Being undocumented, Julio had been driving without a license in order to be able to continue arriving to his work place. When Julio was unable to produce his license, the police officer took Julio into custody and sent him to Broward Transitional Center where he has been for over 3 months.

Julio arrived in the United States seven years ago. He fled Mexico as a 22-year-old to escape extreme violence.
