Today several students, Judith Huerta and Benito Miller staged a sit-in at the Miami offices of Senator Nelson. They are asking that the Senator take immediate action to stop the deportation of Claudio Rojas. The Senator has the power to stop Claudio’s deportation but he is unwilling to take a position of support for Claudio.

**Both of his offices are closed right now but we urge you to leave a message of support on his answering line.

“Hi, I am calling to leave a message of support with the senator. I urge that the senator support Claudio Rojas. Claudio has lived in Florida for 12 years and is facing deportation. Claudio has never been in trouble with the police. The senator has the power to help Claudio, will he help stop Claudio’s deportation?”

If the senator issues a letter of support for Claudio then Claudio is willing to postpone his hunger strike.

On Tuesday the four undocumented youth arrested outside of the Broward Detention Center were all released. This just shows once again that the more public you are the safer you are. Chances are had Claudio known others and been a text message away from an organization then he too would have been released instead of detained and now facing deportation.

Join us in demanding Senator Nelson support the release of Claudio Rojas.
