“Henry Roche, a 26 year old resident of New Orleans faces the devastating reality of being removed from his family and deported to Guatemala in less than one week. Despite having lived in New Orleans for the past 6 years, ICE sees Henry and his family simply as a deportation case. They believe that separating his family and sending Henry back to Guatemala, the country where Henry and his family had faced acts of violence, extortion and a real concern for their safety, is justified as a moral action to be taken.”

[petition/phone call] http://action.dreamactivist.org/louisiana/henry/

his deportation is set for TOMORROW [Thursday, June 21]

there’s a sample call script at the link and also in the email quoted below (the quoted email also has an alternate number to try calling).  please call if you can, and please sign the petition and pass this around.

from the email i got about this:

We need your help, well actually Henry does. This is an urgent case, Henry, 26, is set to be deported on Thursday, the day he has to appear in front of ICE. Henry has been living in New Orleans since he was 20, his family however has been living here for over 36 years. In fact, his family has been here so long that he has two uncles who are retired from the army and two other cousins who are in active service.

Henry’s case is pretty bizarre, he was first detained by New Orleans police when he made the mistake of petting one of their horses. He had no idea it was against the law to touch a policeman’s horse. Instead of a warning Henry was charged with animal cruelty and sent to jail where he was detained by ICE authorities. Despite his mistake Henry is still a low-priority deportation, the same deportations President Obama promised he would be stopping.

For the past two years Henry has been fighting his deportation case, he has produced police reports and other records showing threats made to him by others in his home country. Henry now fears for his life and his hope of staying here hangs in your hands.

TAKE ACTION: Make a call and ask that Henry be granted prosecutorial discretion:

Call ICE Director John Morton 202-732-3000 or 202-732-3100

Sample Script: “Hi, I am calling to ask that Henry Roche (A# 89446127) be allowed to stay with his family in New Orleans. Henry helped rebuild after hurricane Katrina. He was detained for petting a police horse. He is not a bad person and his deportation should be stopped. Henry’s life is in danger if deported.”

After you call please share Henry’s story with someone on facebook. You saw what happened when we fought DREAMer deportations, now we need to all come together and help everyone else. Every call and every petition signature matter.
