{ Update on Leslie Feinberg’s arrest in support of CeCe McDonald }

Transgender author and activist Leslie Feinberg was targeted by Minneapolis police for arrest during the protest against CeCe McDonald’s sentencing overnight on June 4-5. Ze has not been heard from since hir arrest over 24 hours ago and may be facing heavy charges.

As of this time, no hearing has been scheduled, which means Leslie may be facing felony charges (which allows someone to be held up to 72 hours).

As many of you know, Leslie’s health is severely compromised by advanced Lyme disease and related complications. This is a dangerous situation for hir.

Leslie’s spouse Minnie Bruce Pratt, hir comrades in New York, the Committee to Stop FBI Repression, the National Lawyers Guild and the CeCe McDonald Support Committee are all working closely to support Leslie while keeping the public focus on CeCe.

We expect to hear more information later today. CeCe’s support committee and the CSFR are jointly working on a new petition / call to action which will be released soon.
