Chrishaun “CeCe” McDonald is a young African American transgender woman who is charged with two counts of “second degree murder” after an incident that began when she was violently assaulted because of her gender and race.
Ms. McDonald’s trial starts April 30th, 2012. here’s the tumblr post calling for help from out-of-towners during the trial (link). the support blog on wordpress has lots of other ways you can help, too (link), as well as more details on her case (link, WARNING for talk of racist/anti-trans* violence).

if i unfollow you seemingly out of nowhere, and i don’t tell you why, it’s because i don’t wanna talk about it. i’m pretty messed up right now, especially about social stuff, and sometimes i deal with that by just unfollowing people for whatever reason. please don’t ask me why if this happens. i mean, i guess if we’re close it’s ok to ask, but please keep in mind that i likely don’t wanna talk about it. i’m sorry but sometimes i just can’t handle social crap.
for the record: 23-year-old white middle-class singlet cis temporarily-able-bodied agnostic nerd. gender identity/identities: girl. if your language has gendered pronouns, i prefer female ones. not sure if allistic or autistic — probably the former but i dunno. i very likely have social phobia and obsessive-compulsive tendencies. i may have depression (not totally sure, though). multisexual (at the very least attracted to binary male and female people). settled USian. thin privilege and tall privilege. educationally privileged (and being a slacker and a coward afraid to try anything for fear of failure, i have taken this for granted). languages: only US english so far. i have the ability to use what stuffy people of my culture call “proper” grammar but i think that “proper grammar” is a bullshitty concept so i rarely use it.
politics: generally pretty left-ish without identifying with any particular movement or philosophy. for example, i dislike misogyny, and i’m also not a fan of western feminism (although i do think some individual western feminists are ok), and i do NOT think those two things are mutually exclusive.
some stuff i like: sci-fi, horror, drama, comedy, writing, movies, tv, internet shit, visual art (especially photos, messing around with photos, paintings, and drawings), music (currently very into 1990s electronica/ambient, especially the Future Sound of London and Orbital, and ’80s-to-current goth/industrial rock, but don’t expect me to know much about any of it). i fucking love talking about and/or reading analysis of character development and story arcs and narrative devices in fiction ([sigh] i wish TVTropes wasn’t often such a bigoted, snobby shithole).
